NCN 20th anniversary celebration

On Saturday 9 May three STACC members participated in the NCN 20th Anniversary celebration tour organised by WelHatCycling.  The tour started in Welwyn Garden City mid-morning and collected a STACC member and several others at the Galleria en route to lunch at the Inn on the Park.  Two more STACC members joined the ride here, while the first one peeled off for home as we headed towards Harpenden.
It was great to meet up with neighbouring campaigners - as well as friends from WelHatCycling we got to know people from Luton & Dunstable Cycling Forum

NCN routes ridden were (assuming start from WGC)
NCN12 (WGC to Hatfield);
NCN 61 (Alban Way);
St Albans Green Ring (Alban Way to Batchwood Drive);
NCN 6 (St Albans to Harpenden)
lanes and bridleways across south east Harpenden
NCN 57 (Marquis Lane to Leasey Bridge)
the Lower Luton Road to Wheatampstead - yes, we would prefer a cycle-friendly alternative!
NCN57 again (Ayot Greenway)
NCN 12 (Ayot Green to WGC)

Well done and thank you to WelHatCycling and the Sustrans active travel champions for a super day out.

Glad you enjoyed the ride. I was particularly pleased to see the progress on the Green Ring. We need one for WGC next.
